Raku pottery

Raku firing is used when Maria Larsson creates these clay houses.

Raku firing is unpredictable and volatile, but produces really beautiful results. Raku firing began in Japan over 350 years ago. Raku pieces became prized for use in tea ceremonies. Raku pottery is created with a specific ceramic firing process that uses both fire and smoke to create unique patterns and designs.
