To get a message across is not a simple equation. Getting the word out is always essential for any designer especially nowadays with so much competition. Especially when a lot of designers take on a role that is more DIY. With internet it is easier than ever to self-publish. This is often due to a more economical approach and in time of recession or rather post recession.

A cool and cheap way now for a designer to make a personal presence is to pop-up an open-studio and pop-up store. A great chance to meet the public and to engage with them directly.

Temporary spaces are a great complement to all the websites, online interaction as well as virtual marketing.

Some things never change, while most things change constantly.
